Newsmax TV is an American conservative news channel owned by Newsmax Media. The network primarily focuses on opinion-based talk shows. The channel primarily broadcasts from Newsmax’s New York studio on Manhattan’s East Side, with two headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida and Sugar Land, Texas. It launched on June 16, 2014 to 35 million satellite subscribers through DirecTV and Dish Network. As of May 2019, the network reaches about 75 million cable homes, and also has wide distribution via over-the-top internet television platforms.

During the 2020 United States presidential election, President Trump began to promote Newsmax over rival competitor Fox News. Trump’s preference for Newsmax over Fox News became clearer after the latter became the first news outlet to call Arizona for Democratic challenger Joe Biden. Newsmax has made their more conservative leanings a selling point to disaffected Fox News viewers, as well as employing Fox News alumni to join their lineup on Newsmax TV, such as Rob Schmitt and Greg Kelly.

Newsmax TV has beaten Fox News on ratings for the first time, out-ranking its 10pm Monday night show by a narrow margin after Donald Trump actively encouraged his supporters to ditch Fox in favour of the conservative channel. Newsmax overtook Fox News by 26,000 viewers in the key 25-to-54 age demographic, coveted by advertisers in the TV industry, during the 10pm programme slot.
